Operating as attached to Atay Holding and within Aydın Lignite’s body, Mermetay is active in Turkish natural rocks sector since seven years.
Mermertay facilites were built in 1996. Covering a land mass consisted of 18,500 sqm open and 4,250 sqm covered areas, Mermertay is in production with its lines of travertine, marble plates and tiles. While its machine park is mainly of foreign origin, Mermertay also pays attention to use domestic machinery. The investments are showing the taking of cognizance for the environment. A criterion here is to produce for the clients’ demands within the respect boundaries of the nature.

As a principle, Mermertay uses rocks drawn off of its own quarries: Belevi Blacks from its Izmir/Seçuk-Belevi quarry, and Yaykın Dolomites and Yaykın Crystals from Aydın/Karacasu/Yaykın quarries. Since their debut, a total of more than 25,000 cubic meters of rocks was produced. Besides, the search for new sources is ongoing.

With its people employed in its facilities and quarries, Mermertay makes a considerable contribution to these areas. Since human factor is regarded as the most important asset of the production, we pay big importance to our workers’ education.
Memertay holds a special position within its sector due to its commitment to the work ethics and to its aiming on on-schedule delivery and post-sales services with client loyalty as well.

Mermertay keeps its US marketing operations running through the Mermertay-USA company found in 2003, in Arizona. This company operates in its own offices and warehouse since the last quarter of 2008.

An important portion of Mermertay’s production is being exported to foreign countries such as USA, Germany, Israel, Poland, South Korea, Romania, Ukraine, Bulgaria, France, Netherlands, Singapore and United Kingdom. These exported marbles and travertine are used in projects like Hilton Hotel (Bulgaria), Hotel Cantera, some theatres and Ligne Roset chain stores (Germany), Hotel Waldorf (France), Babka Tower commerce center and Olympics Building (Poland), shopping centers (South Korea) Hotel Carlton and some exchanges offices (Singapore), Mirage City center in Las Vegas USA) and in The French Palace at Baku (Azerbaijan).

As a company realizing the quality conscience and the habit of keeping up with delivery terms, due to clients’ demands, Mermertay is currently concentrated on project-based production rather than standard one.
